Same as it ever was

So the past few days have been quiet.

It's just as well. I'm feeling under par. There's a lot of it about at the moment.

I've baked a lot of brown things.......

My first loaf of bread in about two years. Alfie and Olly loved it.

Flapjacks for Sam. He doesn't do cake (where did I go wrong?).

Rock cakes. There's a pasty shop and bakery at the corner of Fore Street and The Digey that sell the best pasties and sausage rolls in town, and also utterly gorgeous and HUGE rock cakes. That's what I was aiming for, and they weren't bad for a first attempt.

The weather is urgh. Olly and me have been traipsing in muddy mud. You know the sort - no fun to walk in, while you just pray you don't end up flat on your backside.

Olly was cool. He loves the horses.

Been listening to Talking Heads, Kate Nash, Manics and a lot of Radio 4.

Oh and my chickens are definitely related to an ovine Houdini. Little buggers.
